1. The International Association on Layered and Graded Materials (LGM-AS) is a non-profit structural unit of the Institute of Topical Associations (ITA) of the World Academy of Ceramics. 2. Its basic task is maintenance and coordination of activities in the field of LGM, namely R&D, education, industrialization, commercialization, etc. In the focus of the LGM-AS are all kinds of ceramic-related activities. 3. The activities of LGM-AS are: Sponsoring or Co-sponsoring with other Associations for holding
International Symposia on Layered- and Graded Materials; 4. The LGM-AS is composed of individual and corporate members. An individual member may be an expert in the field of LGM who has not less than three patents and/or papers in international journals. Corporate member may be an organization including more than five experts on LGM . 5. Leading experts (at least from 10 countries) are the founders of the LGM-AS (no more than 2 from each country). 6. The President heads the LGM-AS and pursues the strategic lines of the development of LGM and the LGM-AS, takes the most important decisions, signs the documents of basic value. The Executive Director is responsible for financial aspects, carries out the operative management of the LGM-AS activity as well as its administration, and works in tight contact with the President and the ITA Leadership. 7. The Council of Founders is the supreme body of the LGM-AS. It holds meetings each two years to hear reports of the President and Executive Director, to accept the plan for the next two years, to ratify the budget. Special sessions of the Council of Founders are possible under the decision of the President. Some decisions may be made by the Council of Founders via interrogation by fax or e-mail. 8. Every four years, one or two members can be complemented to Council of Founders via recommendation from three existing Founding members from different countries or regions. The recommended person must have LGM-AS regular membership for more than four years. 9. The first President of LGM-AS is elected for a 4-year term by the Council of Founders. Next President of LGM-AS will be elected for each 4-year term by all members of LGM-AS. The Executive Director is appointed by the President for the period of his own election. The Executive Director is responsible for the administrative matter as agreed with the President of the LGM-AS. 10. LGM-AS members pay entrance fees and annual dues whose size will be specified by the Council of Founders of LGM-AS. 11. The LGM-AS has its own blank for correspondence and a seal. Its affiliation with ITA of the Academy of Ceramics shall be indicated. 12. The LGM-AS has its own budget. Financial sources, which may
come from: 13. The LGM-AS establishes awards: 14. The LGM-AS adheres to the Statutes and works in accordance to main documents of the Academy of Ceramics. 15. The LGM-AS ceases its status as an ITA member on decision of the Academy Council in case of its unsatisfactory work or for other reasons. |
